Tobey Maguire Doesn't Rule Out Spider-Man 4

(April 16, 2007) After saying last year that he had no interest in doing another Spider-Man movie, Tobey Maguire is backtracking from those comments and leaving the door open for yet another sequel.

Over the course of the last year, director Sam Raimi, actress Kirsten Dunst, and McGuire have said "no" to the possibility of a fourth Spider-Man, potentially ending the movie franchise for awhile. Just last week, Dunst told Entertainment Weekly that Spider-Man 4 would be a "big flop" without her, McGuire, and Maguire.

But now Maguire is leaving the door open and even Dunst and Raimi have toned down on any talk of completely ruling out Spider-Man 4.

About Spider-Man 4, McGuire told Sci-Fi Wire earlier this month the following:

"It all depends on if there's a story worth telling. I feel very proud of the three movies that we've made. I feel like the stories all deserve to be told, and, you know, if they come up with a good movie, and the whole team wants to get back together, and we feel like we can make a good movie that's worth making, then I'm up for it."

Don't count the franchise dead yet.
