"Secrets" of Spider-Man 3 to be Revealed Saturday

(July 16, 2006) Spoilers about next year’s Spider-Man 3 movie will be revealed this coming weekend at the Comic Con convention in San Diego, California. Comic Con has become a favorite place for superhero filmmakers to showcase their upcoming work.

On Saturday, July 22, from 5-6:30pm, Sony will show off some footage and provide additional insight into Spider-Man 3, including a confirmation of the movie's villains.

Spider-Man 3 will hit theaters on May 4, 2007. Unlike the past two Spider-Man films, which each featured one villain, Spider-Man 3 will feature four villains. Three of the villains (Sandman, Harry Osbourne, and Venom) are already known to be appearing in the film. However, the producers of Spider-Man 3 have hinted at a possible fourth villain whether it be a real villain or Spider-Man fighting his venomous side.

The original Spider-Man movie was released in 2002 and became the sixth highest-grossing movie of all time, making more than $400 million in the United States alone. Spider-Man 2 was released in 2004 and went on to gross $373 million in the United States.
