This summer, Hilary Duff and Heather Locklear will star in The Perfect Man, a romantic comedy about a daughter trying to find true love for her mom.

Universal Pictures comedy The Perfect Man, starring Hilary Duff and Heather Locklear, will come to theaters August 12, 2005. Mark Rosman (A Cinderella Story) directs the screenplay by Gina Wendkos (The Princess Diaries), based on a screenplay by Heather Robinson & Michael McQuown. The film is produced by Marc Platt (Legally Blonde), Dawn Wolfrom (Never Again) and Susan Duff (A Cinderella Story). The executive producer is Billy Higgins (Honey).

In The Perfect Man, teenager Holly Hamilton (Duff) is sick of moving every time her single mom Jean (Locklear) runs away to avoid problems with another loser boyfriend. To deter her mother from her latest bad choice, Holly comes up with the perfect plan for the perfect man…an imaginary secret admirer who will romance Jean and boost her shaky self-esteem. But Holly finds herself in trouble when the virtual romance takes off.  She needs to find a man to ask as suitor and decides to borrow her friend’s charming and handsome Uncle Ben (Chris Noth) as the face behind the e-mails, notes and gifts. In order to keep her plan alive, Holly must resort to increasingly desperate measures, almost missing the real perfect man when he does come along.

The Perfect Man also stars Chris Noth (television’s Sex and the City), Mike O’Malley (28 Days), Ben Feldman (When Do We Eat?) and Vanessa Lengies (television’s American Dreams). The creative team includes director of photography John Leonetti (The Scorpion King); production designer Jasna Stefanovic (Honey); editor Cara Silverman (A Cinderella Story); and costume designer Marie-Sylvie Deveau (Taking Lives).
