Louis Lombardi, of 24 fame as the character Edgar Stiles, recently premiered DoughBoys at the Staten Island Film Festival, where it was named the 2007 Audience Choice award winner.

Lombardi directs and stars in DoughBoys, which is about two Bronx brothers that run a bakery which gangsters are trying to take over. The movie is also being shown, this week, at the Kansas International Film Festival. The movie also stars Mike Starr, Vincent Pastore, Andrew Keegan, Guetano Iacono, and Jimmy Madio.

Prior to the win at the Staten Island Film Festival, Lombardi had said, “I am honored to have been able to film in my hometown of the Bronx and working with local actors was great. Now, to have Doughboys premier in a New York festival is an even greater honor and I cannot even begin to express how proud I feel.”

DoughBoys is a drama that tells the story of Lou (Louis Lombardi) and Frank (Gaetano Iacono), two brothers running the family bakery in the Bronx. Because of Lou's gambling problem, the bakery is about to be taken from them by the neighborhood gangster.

Louis Lombardi built a huge fan base with his portrayal of Edgar Stiles on the Fox hit show 24. Lombardi has also starred in The Sopranos and Suicide Kings. For DoughBoys, he’s the director, writer, executive producer, and one of the key actors.

In 2000, Lombardi also wrote and directed another independent film titled “The Boss”.
