Across the Universe is currently in limited release as of September 14th and will be released in theaters nationwide on September 21st.

Across the Universe is a musical film, set in the 1960s. The love story is fictional, but a variety of 1960s topics are touched upon all within a musical setting. Writer-director Julie Taymor (Frida, Titus, Broadway's The Lion King) and co-writers Dick Clement and Ian LaFrenais (The Commitments) combine familiar music with political and social issues, in both a live action and animated format.

Featured on the soundtrack are 16 songs, including Bono performing two cover songs: “I Am the Walrus” and the film’s end title track “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.” Also on the soundtrack is Joe Cocker singing “Come Together,” Evan Rachel Wood singing "Blackbird," and several cast performances. Songs performed by the cast include "All My Loving," "I Want To Hold Your Hand," "It Won't Be Long," "I've Just Seen A Face," "Let It Be," "Something," "Oh Darling," "Across the Universe," "Helter Skelter," "Strawberry Fields," "Happiness Is A Warm Gun," and "Hey Jude."

The Across The Universe - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack was released by Interscope Records on September 14, 2007 in conjunction with the film’s limited release.
