Jared Leto, most recently seen on the silver screen as the legendary Hephaistion in Oliver Stone’s Alexander, began his acting career on the small screen as on the series My So-Called Life.  As Jordan Catalano on the teen drama My So-Called Life, Leto starred opposite Claire Danes and gained a place in the hearts of teenage girls across the country.

 

His first feature film was in How To Make An American Quilt with Winona Ryder and has gained notoriety for portraying a wide range of supporting roles in several projects.  Those film projects include Prefontaine, a docudrama that chronicles the tragic life of Steve Prefontaine, a long-distance runner who had hopes of winning an Olympic medal.  Other films include David Fincher’s Fight Club with Brad Pitt and Edward Norton, Mary Harron’s American Psycho with Christian Bale, Terrence Malick’s The Thin Red Line, and James Mangold’s Girl Interrupted with Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie.

 

Leto took on a harrowing role opposite Jennifer Connelly and Ellen Burstyn in Darren Aronofsky’s Requiem for a Dream and then starred alongside Jodie Foster, Forest Whitaker, and Dwight Yoakum in David Fincher’s Panic Room. 

 

Leto’s has portrayed characters in such additional films as The Last of the High Kings, Switchback, Basil, Urban Legend, Black and White, Sunset Strip, and Highway.  He will next be seen starring opposite Nicolas Cage and Ethan Hawke in Lord of War, as well as the psychological thriller Awake.
