Adrien Brody won an academy award for the lead role in Roman Polanski’s The Pianist, based on Szpilman’s 1946 autobiographical book Pianist.

Brody also stared in Elle Chouraqui’s Harrison’s Flowers, a haunting drama set against the backdrop of the Balkan conflict.  The film also stars Andie MacDowell, David Strathairn and Elias Koteas.  He stars with Charlotte Ayanna in Peter Sehr’s contemporary film noir, Love The Hard Way.  Brody can also be seen staring opposite Milla Jovovich on Greg Pritikin’s Dummy and opposite Keira Knightley in The Jacket.

Brody first built his celebrity reputation with a supporting role in Steven Soderbergh’s King of the Hill and the lead in Eric Bross’ Ten Benny.  He has continued his career in Adam Bernstein’s Six Ways to Sunday and Eric Bross’ Restaurant.  His other film credits include The Thin Red Line, The Last Time I Committed Suicide and Oxygen.  Brody appeared in controversial films such as Spike Lee’s Summer of Sam and Barry Levinson’s Liberty Heights.  Brody starred as an activist union organizer seeking to empower minority janitors in Ken Loach’s Bread and Roses.

Brody was born and raised in New York City, where he attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the High School for the Performing Arts.
