V for Vendetta gives a look at a bleak future England's as a totalitarian government reigns after a bitter battle against Germany. During an ambush where her life is in danger by the secret police, a young woman named Evey Hammond (Natalie Portman), is saved by a masked crusader known only as “V” (Hugo Weaving). Leading a rebellion, V encourages the populous to rise up through guerrilla warfare and overthrow the tyrannous government who fertilizes the cruel and deceitful fascist state. Evey becomes V’s unlikely ally. The mysterious story of V unravels to her and she learns more about herself and where she will take a stand. The plan is to bring justice and power back to the people.
The famous directors of the Matrix, the Wachowski brothers are back in this sci-fi action version of a rebellion against a tyrannous government. Hugo Weaving also takes the stage as “V” after his role in the Matrix as Agent Smith.
