Transformers

In Transformers, the live-action film based on the 80s television cartoon, two alien races are at war – the Autobots and the Decepticons. When the robots bring their battle to Earth, all of human race is in jeopardy. The Autobots are on the side of human race while the Decepticons are set to destroy.

Just as in the television program, these Transformers are mechanical and technological beings that transform from seemingly ordinary machines (a truck, helicopter, etc) into robots ready for battle or protection.
