Poseidon

The Poseidon, a luxury cruise ship standing more than 20 stories tall, is capsized by a rogue wave, leaving it completely upside down in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. From within the destruction, a small group of survivors find themselves forced into becoming unlikely allies in order to fight for their lives.

One man, career gambler John Dylan (Josh Lucas), would much rather prefer to face the odds alone as he ignores capain’s orders (Andre Braugher) to stay and wait below for possible rescue. Instead, he leaves to try and find his own way to safety. Starting out as a solo mission, Dylan soon draws others to his quest for safety as he is followed by a desperate father (Kurt Russell) who is frantically searching for his missing daughter (Emmy Rossum) and her fiancé (Mike Vogel). As they search for escape, they are joined by a single mother (Jacinda Barrett) and her son (Jimmy Bennett), a stowaway (Mia Maestro) and another passenger (Richard Dreyfuss) who, as he boarded the ship, wasn’t sure he wanted to live but who know was sure he doesn’t want to die.

The group sets off through the upside-down wreckage, determined to find a way to the surface but, as the ship fills up with water, everyone must use their own skills and strengths to fight for survival.
