 In Monster-in-Law, Charlotte 'Charlie' Cantilini (Jennifer Lopez), after years of looking, finally finds her Mr. Right, Kevin Fields (Michael Vartan). Although Kevin is the man of her dreams, she unfortunately discovers that his mother, Viola (Jane Fonda), is the woman of her nightmares. Viola, a recently fired national news anchor who is afraid she will lose her son the way she has just lost her career, determines to scare off her son's new fiancé by becoming the world's worst mother-in-law. Viola enlists the help of her long-time assistant Ruby (Wanda Sykes) to execute her wild schemes but Charlie decides to fight back. The two women battle it out to see just who is the alpha-female.
Directed by Robert Luketic (Legally Blonde), Monster-in-Law is produced by Paula Weinstein, Chris Bender and JC Spink. The screenplay is by Anya Kochoff and the film is executive produced by Michael Flynn.
