In The Da Vinci Code, a curator is spectacularly murdered at the Louvre Museum in Paris, home of the famous Leonardo Da Vinci painting, the Mona Lisa. The motive for this heinous devilry is to uncover a secret kept safe since the days of Jesus Christ.
With all the signs pointing at a covert fanatic religious group, Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks), a famous Harvard symbologist, and the victim’s granddaughter, Sophie Neveu (Audrey Tautou), are the only two who can decipher the clues left by the killer. By solving the mystery they are lead to clues hidden in the Mona Lisa left by the painter for all the world to see. Their search leads them not only towards the murderer but a dark secret of the ages. 2,000 years of accepted religious beliefs are threatening to overturn.
This story, originally an extremely popular and controversial book by Dan Brown, is brought to the silver screen by Ron Howard and Akiva Goldsman.
