|
 Right after World War II, Father Lankester Merrin (Stellan Skarsgård) begins a new career as an archeologist. In his research he uncovers an ancient Byzantine church in British East Africa. As the dig continues, Father Merrin discovers that the church is actually built on top of a crypt that was the site of a Satanic ritual.
