Apocalypto

Apocalypto is a mythic action-adventure set against the turbulent end times of the once great Mayan civilization. The Mayan kingdom tries to fight its demise through the building of temples and offers of human sacrifice.

Jaguar Paw, a young man who, until now, has led an idyllic life, is brutally disrupted by a the violent invading force as he is chosen for sacrifice. The man is taken on a perilous journey to a world ruled by fear and oppression where a drastic end awaits him. Powered by his love for his woman and family he decides to make a desperate break to return home and to ultimately save his way of life.

Apocalypto is written and directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Mel Gibson.
