A Lot Like Love, a romantic comedy starring Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet, tells the story of two friends and their attempt make clear the frequently fuzzy line between chance friendships and romance. The film follows the relationship of Oliver (Kutcher) and Emily (Peet). The couple meets on a flight from Los Angeles to New York seven years ago and, after the flight, each declares that they couldn’t be more wrong for each other.
Events in both their lives keep bringing them unexpectedly back together over the next seven years, but the timing is never right for anything more than friendship. As they each struggle in their own seprarate relationships, careers and breakups, the relationship between the two of them begins to turn from casual acquaintances to trusted friends who can confide in each other about anything.
As they look for love and a relationship that is not fated for disaster for the seven years of their developing friendship, Oliver and Emily begin to realize that maybe what they really have is something…a lot like love.
