In 1987, 13-year-old Jenna Rink is beginning to blossom into womanhood.  Her only problem is that it isn’t happening fast enough. In typical pre-teen fashion, Jenna feels suffocated by her “dorky” parents, ignored by the cool girls at school and snubbed by her cute crush.  She is no longer happy spending all of her time with her best friend a neighbor, Matt, and, thus invites the cool girls, named “The Six Chicks”, to her 13th birthday part.  She is humiliated when they trick her while playing a game of “Seven Minutes in Heaven” and humiliated Jenna wishes with all her might to be all grown up.

With the help of some magic dust, her wish comes true.  Jenna emerges from her closet into 2004, where she is a 30 year old advertising executive.  She is a gorgious and successful woman (Jennifer Garner) with a job at her favorite fashion magazine.

Although she is cool and popular as an adult, she still longs for the innocence of 13 and her family and best friend Matt (Mark Ruffalo).  Does Jenna get a second chance at love with Matt, or does she conform to the pressure of a busy adult life?
