Batman Begins explores the original roots of the Batman legend and the Dark Knight’s development into a superhero and a force for good in Gotham City. Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale), disillusioned due to his parents’ murder, is a reluctant industrial heir.

Trying to deal with his parent’s death he travels around the world looking for reason in life and finding the means to fight injustice and the ways to turn fear against those who use fear to hurt others. Once he finds his enlightenment he returns to Gotham part human, part Batman.

He unveils the masked crusader Batman and uses his strength, intelligence, and high tech mechanisms to fight evil that can harm his city. Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins explores the history of the development of Bruce Wayne into Batman and the reasons behind this manifestation.

The cast of Batman Begins includes Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Katie Holmes, Gary Oldman, Cillian Murphy, Tom Wilkinson, Rutger Hauer, Ken Watanabe and Morgan Freeman.

The action adventure film was directed by Christopher Nolan with music by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard.

Batman Begins is rated PG-13 for intense action violence, disturbing images and some thematic elements. It was released in theaters on July 15, 2005 with a DVD release on October 18, 2005.
